find and summarising information in non-fiction texts

I have been learning to skim and scan non=fiction texts to find and summarize information wewe read a story about whit taled spiders we had to find facts from the text and summarize them i found this tricky because a didn't now much about white taled spiders my next steps are to not to aske people
